Like many others I recently started to go “old school” and collect vinyl records. In my quest to find that treasured record in my hunt I came across a cool chapter of Cornwall employment history.
We were home to a vinyl pressing plant/wharehouse for a company called Compo Company Ltd out of Lachine, Quebec. It had various names including Decca Records before eventually being sold to an American company called Music Corporation of America(MCA).
There are still people around who worked there in the 1960’s and maybe 70’s. I don’t kknow how long it was in operation or how many people it employed.

The building still stands today and you likely have driven by it many times. It’s now Marimac on the corner of Boundary and Montreal Road. Just a neat little piece of Cornwall history.
