We were more than happy to be sponsors of this year’s Crafting A Cure event in support of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation(JDRF) at the Agora Centre last month. While there is a full committee that deserves plenty of credit the couple who started this entire thing, Jeff & Cherie Lalonde, need to be commended.
The pair live with kids who have juvenile diabetes and know first hand what it’s like. Their passion to help raise funds necessary is easy to see and all committee members will likely tell you the same. Over the years they have forged relationships with the breweries beyond this local event and have visited them all here and there and fostered real partnerships.
This year Sawdust City brewed a beer called 11.05 with part of the proceeds going directly to the Crafting a Cure fundraiser.
The beer was delicious and you can see below that the logo for Crafting a Cure was on each can sold.
Again there are many people to thank for the local effort but the Lalonde’s have taken something near and dear to them and fostered it into something many look forward to every year.
We take care of our own in this community and this is just one more example of that.
