I rarely eat anything with ketchup but on the weekend at Beau’s Brewery in Vankleek Hill I had a grilled cheese made with St-Albert cheese and dipped it in hoppy ketchup. They also had two other spicier version of it.
Bill puts ketchup on everything while I have more fingers on one hand than I use ketchup in a year.
HOWEVER…there are three foods where using ketchup makes sense, other than these three foods it’s just a masking agent to cover up the actual flavour of what you’re eating.
1.Grilled Cheese (only if there is no tomato soup to dip it in)
2. Shepperd’s Pie or Pate Chinois
3. Tourtiere (meat pie)
Anything else the ketchup is just masking the actual taste of what you’re eating.
