For the first time ever Cornwall’s Port Theatre is hosting a movie premier, not just any premier either. It’s the Canadian premier of the award winning Swedish film called The Break-In. It gets better, the director, Marcus Ovnell will be in attendance this Friday to introduce the film and take part in a Q&A. Very cool, indeed.
All this made possible through a Cornwallite’s love of movies. Nikolai Adams is a movie expert/critic who recently launched his own review site called Filmizon (click here for Nikolai’s review). Adams met the director at a movie festival and inquired about having the film screened here. Ovnell didn’t just accept, he agreed to come to Cornwall on his own dime to do it.
The community has responded very well with some local businessmen buying blocks of tickets and in some cases donating them to local high schools arts program students so they can experience this opportunity. Ticket sales have been going extremely well with roughly 100 tickets remaining. If you’re on the fence better act fast and pick your up ASAP. Advance tickets are available at the lotto kiosk at the Cornwall Square, St.Lawrence Appliance Service, The Chamber of Commerce, and at Port Theatre box office during movie times.
