Ever since I was a kid, one of my favourite things to do during the summer is to visit Upper Canada Village.
This afternoon I stopped by the Village and had the pleasure of meeting their newest addition – a feisty little Canadian Horse foal by the name of…well…I don’t know to be honest…because that’s where YOU come in!
This summer Upper Canada Village is letting you “Name the Canadian Foal” and the rules/criteria are pretty simple:
1- The name must begin with the letter “C”
2- It must be practical for the use of horse handlers/drivers (so something like supercalifragilisticexpialidocious is a bit too long)
3- Must be suitable for the colt (personality, markings, behaviour, attitude, etc)
4- Appropriate for Upper Canada Village setting
As you can see, he’s a pretty curious, bold, and cute little guy, who loves attention. He’s also a prime example of Canada’s national breed which is celebrating it’s 350th anniversary this year, so get creative!
The winner will not only have the horse named after their choice, but they will also get to be the Grand Marshall of the Canadian Horse Parade on Saturday, September 5th at the Horse Lovers Weekend.
You have until Sunday, August 23rd at 5:00pm to enter – so start thinking!

*Fun Fact about Jentry – When I’m not out and about with boom On The Street, I’m usually in the barn with my own horses – two in which are the same breed as this guy…so I might be a bit bias…
