Esca Gourmet Pizza and Bar opened last night and it lived up to the hype. I was there with my wife and three other couples and we enjoyed our time from the moment we were greeted at the door until we called it a night.
Let’s begin with the renovations. Simply put they did a marvelous job inside with a bar and dining room. It’s a nice blend of modern and rustic with plenty of space. The patio is very nice as well for the extra seating during the warmer months.
The food was a hit with everyone enjoying their pizzas. They have a great variety of pies (pizza) to suit most anyone’s palate. We tried the spring rolls as an app and they were fantastic and came with a couple of tasty sauces.
You know I tried something from the bar…their selection of Ontario craft beer, both on tap and in bottle, again will keep beer lover more than happy. They also have a nice selection of whiskey’s and bourbons if that’s more your style.
The bottom line is Esca is a great addition to fine dining Downtown when it comes to a night out along with all the other supper options within a three block radius. Whatever you are in the mood for can likely be found there at Esca, Table 21/Truffles, Schnitzles, Bar Q or Moustache Joe’s.
Good luck Mike, RJ, Melanie and Alyssa!
