We are a week away from the 9th annual Corus Caring Hearts Radiothon and I am stoked. It is one of my favorite things we do here are boom 101.9.
This year’s radiothon takes on extra special meaning for me since we are raising money for the new chemotherapy treatment area at the Cornwall Community Hospital. I lost my father to cancer four months ago and remember very vividly the trips to Ottawa we took to get his treatments, sometimes for two weeks straight. This would not only facilitate the travel time but the cost and worry factor about traffic, being on time and road conditions.
I know dad(who was the community chair on the original redevelopment campaign of 10 million) would support this whole-heartedly if he were still with us.
You can make a $100 donation and request a song to be played on boom 101.9 that day in memory of someone or to honour or recognize someone or even just because you want to hear it. Any song, not just what we play, we’re allowing you to choose whatever tune you want.
I will be doing this radiothon on honour of my dad(Richard Allaire) this year and the others I know who are fighting or have survived cancer. It really hits home for me this year and I hope you can show your support next Thursday.
On behalf of my dad…THANK YOU in advance.
