I have now officially tried a bacon wrapped turkey thanks to the lovely Jen Robertson (whom I now have a huge crush on). It is as good as it sounds. Jen tells us that the prep of the bacon weave is not difficult but time consuming. If you have the patience it is worth it to dazzle your family this weekend. The finished product is also very attractive and take my word for it, it does smell awesome! The advice Jen has now that she has prepared one is to cut slits into the top of the turkey to let the bacon grease seep into the bird to enhance flavour and tenderness. She also surprised us when she also stuffed the turkey with bacon!!!!
When we had this sucker in the studio our mouths were watering and when Jen told us she has stuffed it with bacon as well….our reactions are priceless. Have a listen…
