Less than week ago I joined breast cancer survivor Emilie Bonneville’s CIBC Run for the Cure team and began raising money for her team and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. I told her I would try to raise $1019.00 to add to her team total. As an incentive for people to donate I agreed to dye my beard pink for a week if the goal was reached. This journey began on Tuesday September 16th and here we are less than a week later and I have already exceeded my goal thanks to the people of Cornwall’s generosity. I am absolutely blown away and fully prepared to go pink bearded for the week as promised.
Now for the update. Since I still have 2 weeks of fundraising left and some donations pledged and yet to come in, the total collected is already over $1019.00, I will extend my pink beard challenge to two weeks if I can hit the $2,000 mark. Based on the response to the challenge in week 1 I am confident we can help send Emilie to Ottawa on October 5th with an extra two grand for her team and more importantly for breast cancer research.
I can also tell you there is an event being planned that we would love to see you out at in the coming week or so. Details are being ironed out and that information will be made public soon.
All I can say is THANK YOU and let’s keep this going and continue to show why Cornwall is an amazing place that always steps up and takes care of its own.
